Ushuaia Argentina ~ Rounding Cape Horn ~ Last Stop Before Antartica

On our Antarctica cruise we were thrilled to visit Ushuaia: the southernmost city on the planet.  It is located on the shores of the Beagle Channel, at the southern tip of the Tierra del Fuego Island and surrounded by the Martial Mounts.

The city is surrounded by Mount Martial to the West and by Mounts Olivia and Cinco Hermanos to the East.  The forests, the mountains, the sea, the glaciers and the wind dominate the landscape. Ushuaia means: "bay that looks on to the west."

We all agreed Ushuaia has everything for everyone.  For some people, it is the end of the world.  For others, it is the beginning of everything.
