Football or sports fan I am not although Friday WAS the biggest event at Aloha Stadium since I went to the swap meet two weeks ago :)  It also turned my head around while reading yesterday mornings headlines in the Honolulu Advertiser: Crowd goes wild over Hawaii victory!

Starting a week ago they kept warning us about the traffic that would accompany Black Friday shopping the day after Thanksgiving and the biggest football game ever.

It was the Western Athletic Conference Football Championship with our own Hawaii Warriors against Boise State.

I happened to be out and about "Traveling the Road of Aloha....The ActiveRain MEETING with Peers" with Kathy McGraw (fellow Rainer) and her family who are visiting from California. While we went in the other direction to the North Shore....the game and Black Friday shopping took over the freeways and congested traffic throughout the southern part of Oahu.

I had no clue why there was so much ranting and raving about this particular game....until I read:

After 28 years, Our Hawaii Warriors made a grand milestone 39-27 victory over five-time conference champion Boise State and their FIRST outright WAC title ever.  WOW! Now I am impressed! This proved to be the biggest crowd ever to attend a University of Hawaii home game with 479,651  49,651 people.

I am proud and maybe I'll just pay more attention to sports from now on.

woo hoo  Sally,  that is great!  I am not a BIG football fan, but I do try to watch the sports wrap up so I can let me friends know I say the great play!  That is the only way I can keep up with all of it.  Of course, living in Red Sox and Patriot Country -- I ALWAY watch those games!  Enjoy the victory!

Sally -- I can understand that you would rather watch the history channel over sports, however, Hawaii may make history by continuing to win.  It was a nice win for them and although they did not make it into the top 10 this week -- they may in the end.

I'm the 'odd woman out' I detest football...I never did understand it!  My husband and youngest son (who is visiting for the holiday) have been glued to the TV since Thursday!

Mary:  I don't like the guy stuff either but then again my husband forces me to watch the History channel (thank goodness hehe) although I have to say I am proud. Hawaii has not been in this position and the pictures looked so neat...they were all happy. :)

Sally- You can post this in the fantasy sports group.

YEAH! Warriors! I am a football fan and have been following the Warriors! This is a great victory for them! My sons are really big fans and played all through their youth. They are also following the Warriors. They have a great team this year! Katerina

Sally, that DOES sound like cause for celebration.  Hawaii and football, all wrapped up in one package - now that would be a fantasy for a lot of people!  My husband would be at the top of that list.

Sally, I think that news is thrilling for Hawaii!  What a terrific win.  I loved reading in the article that they all stormed the field and it became a mosh pit---makes the safety of TV seem so much better sometimes!

Margaret: My husband is right along with me...okay, news. :)

Carole: Yes it does! I don't think it was like on the cops show though. no riot :)

Jason: Hey lil bro! I looked back at one of our conversations on here...and I called you when there was a supposed game going on...I hope I didn't interrupt :)

That was the biggest game in Hawaii history.  Since they won, next week will now become the biggest game in school history.  We are the only undefeated team in the nation.

Go COLT BRENNAN!!!  Our quarterback is one of the favorites for the Heisman.

GO WARRIORS!!!
