Thinking of moving to the Blairsville Georgia area and are concerned about medical facilities? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. One of the first questions many people ask us is “what kind of medical facilities are here”?
Started in 1959 as a clinic, Union General Hospital in Blairsville Georgia is one of the favorites. Union General Hospital has grown into a state of the art hospital with a dialysis clinic, Cancer Treatment Center, and Nursing Home. It is served by the Glenda Gooch House which allows the families of patients to be near their loved ones while hospitalized. One of the most respected departments in the hospital is their Labor and Delivery ward. Expectant mothers and fathers from several surrounding counties choose to have their newborns arrive at Union General Hospital.
I had the pleasure of visiting the Labor & Delivery today as one of our “adopted girls” delivered little Miss Kaleigh this afternoon. You Moms will understand the term “adopted daughter”. That’s one of your own daughter’s BFF’s who spends lots of time at your house or vice versa. Little Kaleigh came into the world today at 6 pounds, 13 ounces and a little over 19 inches long.

The most precious gift even an “adopted gramma” could ask for on Valentine’s Day!

5 Comments on What Kind of Medical Facilities Are There? Union General Hospital Blairsville Georgia
This is a birthday you will never forget!! Congratulations.
What a special addition to your family. Congratulations!! And a great post -- this is an important aspect to any move and more buyers should explore it!
Cyndi, your area is a lot like ours with people wanting to retire there and medical faciilities and care is very important. What's nice about your post though is that people starting their life move to these areas too. Congratulations on your little adopted granddaughter, she's a darling.
Gwen - While I think it wouldn't be fun to have to share your birthday, Valentine's Day was a great birth date for this little cutie.
Brenda - Thank you. We have several good hospitals in the area and it is one of the first things many people ask about.
Mona - I am surprised by the number of people who say they want a home near the hospital. Of course I guess as one gets older (not us of course) you would want that security. Thank you, Kaleigh is a keeper for sure.

Knowing about the facilities in the area is something that is often over looked by some Realtors'. Customers need this type of information. Your story ties it all together nicely instead of just a place and an address...Wayne
