College Football Week in Review.

Who is going to the BCS National Championship Game on  January 7, 2008 you ask? Well, we know that it will be the BCS No. 1 vs. BCS No. 2, but the question remains who will that be. After a week of upsets and teams taking other teams to lightly, lets take a look at the top ten and how they performed.

  1. LSU lost to Arkansas 48-50 in a shoot out that saw a evenly matched game right down to the end. Almost half of the points in this game was scored in OT.
  2. Kansas took on Missouri and lost out 36 to 28. Kansas took out a slow start and the second half was more evenly matched.
  3. West Virgina trounced Connecticut 66 to 21 in a very over matched game.
  4. Missouri beat Kansas in their own back yard 36 - 28.
  5. Ohio State had a day off.
  6. Arizona State saw their dreams fade away as USC marched in and handed them another loss 24 - 44.
  7. Georgia owned Georgia Tech in  the second half beating them 31 to 17 right in the Jackets yard.
  8. Virgina Tech thumped Virgina 33 - 21.
  9. The Mighty Ducks of Oregon looked weak vs UCLA as they lost 0 - 16
  10. Oklahoma thrashed Oklahoma State 49 - 17.

That's why bookies will tell you never to bet on college football ... who would have guessed it?

Allen, actually I did. I just did not bet on either of them.

Loreena, it has been a very interesting year. Anyone checking in on Hawaii?

It looks like a lot of scoring. Defences get torn down and key palyers get lost or injured and toi changes the whole complex of the game. Would welcome a 16 team playoff with teams being seeded for the blowl games.

Danny - Appreciate the update on what is going on.  Nice to see Mo beat Ks.  I am from Mo. so like to keep up somewhat.

Danny... I went to WVU...  this is awesome. WVU will be number 1 now....  and as long as they beat Pitt next week will be playing either Missouri or Ohio St...  how sweet...

Eric, I love that idea.

Candy, it takes me some time to get into it.

Jeff, I went to FSU and we sucked this year.

I'm hoping for Missouri versus Georgia. I like Missouri as the Cinderella story and a running back for Georgia, Knowshon Moreno, is from Monmouth County, New Jersey.

Danny, college football has been totally crazy this year...the #1 and 2 have been falling all year!

Andrew, if I had to pick right now it would be Missouri and West Virgina would be playing for all the marbles. Georiga will play Ohio State.

Rick, that it has and I see it continuing in that way.

This has been the year of upsets. I guess it will all come down to next Saturday!

Gary, did you watch the game last night? That would have been an upset of a lifetime. Patriot fans are very thankful that AJ was the QB.

11/26/2007 12:37 PM by Danny Thornton (Home America Mortgage, INC.)

lol - they would have had a cakewalk with McNabb as QB.  Why are the PAT fans thankful AJ was QB?

Hey Belonger.... 'your ' Louisville Cardinals start yet on the hardwood?

Back to NCAA... Where are 'my' Sooners ranked now?

11/26/2007 02:16 PM by Rob Robinson- Lehigh Valley PA (Bertrum Settlements (Title & Abstract))

Rob, they pulled in 9th in the Rankings this year.

Why does it seem to be a CURSE for college football teams to be RANKED 1st or 2nd this year?

11/26/2007 02:27 PM by Real Estate Specialist | Brandon, FL | Susie Roscoe (Signature Realty Associates)

Missouri will get by Oklahoma and will end up playing west virgina in the national championship game. Ohio States strength of schedule is weak and their season is already done. It isnt fair for them to move up to the number two spot by being idle.

USC if they beat UCLA this Saturday will make it to the Rose Bowl.

LSU to be quite honest is a bit overrated............

Susie, every so often, college football has that curse that flows for the entire season.

Eddy, I think that the Missouri/Oklahoma game will be a tough one, for both parties. I look for the championship to be West Virgina vs Ohio State. But that is just my opinion.

Misery / Okie game should be a good one.

WV seems to be firing on all cylinders.... but will 'the big game' put them into the deer in the headlights mode?

Rob, only time will tell. Last year was a good example.
