I have been Meme'd!

I originally posted this to Val's blog (please do not accuse me of cutting and pasting to get points!) but I got some emails that it was supposed to be posted here. Happy Holidays and Happy Staging. KH

Here are 5 things you do not know about me:

1. I used to work in financial sales in NYC and then left it all to become an interior designer.

2. Once I became an interior designer I was so annoyed how clients could spend $8,000 on a sofa but not pay me $250 for my time so I decided to find something new to do and discovered staging. Now I can tell people what to do in their homes and if it is not their personal taste that is ok since the goal is to sell their home and they do not have to live with it forever only until their house sells!

3. I am totally, utterly addicted to starbucks sugar free hazelnut non fat lattes and cannot function if I do not have a venti everyday- I think this is why my metabolism is so off and I have gained 10 lbs.

4. I am not blonde! Everyone who saw me on stagedhomes.com is shocked to learn that I actually have very dark hair.

5. I have 2 sons, Nicholas who is 4 1/2 and Benjamin who is 2 1/2. My resolution for 2007 is to only work 5 days a week and spend more time with them since they are growing up so fast!

I too could never understand how some people who will spend a fortune on an item, will not pay someone what they are due! That is why the rich get richer..

Definitely take the time to spend with your two boys because I could testify that time flies by very quickly. My children are 29 and 31 and it seems like yesterday when I had them. That is why I quit my job and began doing Staging, so that I can help with my grandchild before he grows up too quickly. Time is one thing you will never get back..Enjoy them, they are a gift from God.

Good evening Katie! I am fairly new to the AR network and just ran across two of your blogs. From those two blogs alone I can tell you are a wonderful person! I'll comment later on your stagedhomes.com expierence, but first of all have to say you have me wanting to try a new drink at Starbucks. I've always been a Chai Tea lover but am going to try our your new fat since it's suger free and non-fat. Thanks!

Most importantly, I am so proud of you for seeing the importance of being home with your kids during this valuable time. I also have two little ones ( 1 1/2 and a 3 1/2 yr old) and am making similar changes for similar reasons. Yes, it can be scary at times, but SO worth it to be there for them and not traveling or working long hours/days. I am trying to make a similar commitment to not be in mommy's office - especially on Sundays!
