Thought maybe you would find the trivia interesting!
What did you do to celebrate your Valentines Day!
Hope your Valentine's Day is everything you wish for!
History.com claims that, in the week or so before Valentine's Day:
$450 million was spent on candy.
$9 million was spent on sparkling wine.
58 million pounds of chocolate was purchased.
36 million heart-shaped boxes of candy were sold.
150 million cards were sent.
And... 8 billion Sweetheart candies were produced, which were mostly sold between January 1st and today. Lay them all out in a row and you would have a heart chain that stretches from Rome, Italy to Valentine, Arizona 20 times. Makes my teeth hurt thinking about it!
We didn't even talk about flowers! But then, only 23% of the 62% who celebrate Valentine's day buy plants or flowers. After all that overbuying, and as you move on to the overdosing on chocolates and getting tipsy on champagne, please remember Love is what you are celebrating today. So, no matter what you give... just give it with all your heart. That's all that matters. The memory of the look in your eyes or the touch of your hand will last far longer than the flowers, the chocolates and the tie or pair of earrings that doesn't match anything you own.
What I love... is working with all of you! You are an amazing, wonderful community of professionals that LOVE doing the important work of helping others create a home. And you know what they say... home is where the heart is. I'm grateful for all that you do!
