My husband and I were out doing some errands after church today and on our way back home decided it was high time we stopped in at the new "chocolate store" that had popped up on the Highway in Bastrop.

WOW! 

If you love chocolate then you need to stop and experience this for yourselves!

Roscar Chocolatesmoved to Bastrop from San Antonio.  When asked why they chose Bastrop they told me that they had looked at Austin but the $$ were higher, and they found this location on Hwy 71 which put them in  a good location to service Austin, Houston, and San Antonio.

 All of their chocolates are hand made at the new Bastrop location, and the best part is the TASTING ROOM which is open Wed-Sat at 10 am and Sunday at NOON ( closed Monday and Tuesday....must be when they make the chocolate!

When we stopped in the Chocolatier ( professional who specializes in making chocolates and has trained under a Master in the field) was behind the counter in the tasting room.  Boy does he know what he is doing!!!!  The display is filled with Truffles and BonBons and the like.  They even have gourmet coffee!   

We chose the Lime, Tequila, and Jalapeno Truffle to try.  I know, it sounds a bit rough ....but it was absoultely delicious.  There was a nice lime flavor on the inside with subtle hints of tequila and jalapeno on the outside and it was chocolate!!!!!!!!!  They talked us in to trying the Holiday Truffle also.  It was magnificent!  Both of these are now on our gift list for Christmas for family and friends.
