When The Phone Rings The Memory Of A Past AR Post Leaps To Mind

Real Estate Agent with Integrity Real Estate Group

It was 8 AM when the phone rang.  Since I was only half-way through my first cup of coffee it took a minute for the number to register.  It was an overseas number.  Quick answer it.

Sure enough the call was from a family in Germany who would be relocating to the DC area.  Top of their list from where to live was schools.  And not just any school, a school that offered a German language immersion program.  BAM!  Localism post to the rescue.  A few years ago I wrote a post on registration for the language immersion programs at Fairfax County Schools

From writing that post and checking the Fairfax County Schools website I knew that Orange Hunt Elementary School in Springfield Virginia was a German immersion school.  I gave her the information to check.  The next item on her list was commuting to DC from the area.  Okay we won't even talk about the number of posts I've written on commuting options, including our unique commuting slug lines.

If you ever wonder whether the knowledge you gain from researching your local area will pay off, the answer is YES.

Localism does pay off does it not? It is good to know your community and the surrounding communities to be informed and give the information as you did. I hope they become your clients if they have not already.

The localism posts do make the phone ring. Google ranks them pretty high so there isn't much other real estate competition.

This is so very correct.  We are finding that the blog postings of "local" real estate and communities is paying off.  Same with the videos of the local communities as part of your blogging.

Cindy, We're still getting calls requesting permission to use our data from our localism post on the correlation between rejecting school tax levies and property value decline.  Other school districts are finding the information and loving finding data that actually supports the results.  Pretty cool to see the posts work :)

To me, writing Localism posts is like becoming a tourist in your own home town.  When we have visitors, we take them to places we don't normally go to ourselves anymore.  Choosing to write Localism posts, forces us to get out there to see and be seen!

Excellent, Cindy.  That's a topic I had never thought of writing about.  My goal this first quarter is to get more involved in local blogs, and then I need to make it a habit!  Happy Friday.

That's what drove me to refer to you!  Besides rubbing elbows at Raincamp in Philly.  I know my clients are well cared for in your skilled hands.  Localism works.  You are the example!  Thanks
