Human nature being what it is, I have discovered a fact of life. When a person begins to achieve a certain level of success in whatever one is seeking proficiency, that person will experience a greater level of criticism. It is predictable.
Think about it. Initially when no one knows who you are, you will fly under the radar. No one notices your missteps. No one cares. Slowly you become more successful and folks notice. Others become jealous. Somehow you are receiving breaks or opportunities which are not present for them. Any mistakes you make are quickly pointed out and you are reprimanded. Success will beget criticism. It is predictable.
Many watched as Tim Tebow fever seemed to reach a high pitch. This in turn led to criticism. It was fairly predictable. It will happen to Jeremy Lin. He was an undrafted basketball player from Harvard University who has been embraced as he has achieved some instant success. It helps that he plays for the New York Knicks. But do not be complacent in your understanding of human nature. Jeremy Lin is human and and he will make mistakes. Others will be jealous of his instant celebrity and he will be critcized.
It happened to Susan Boyle who achieved instant success through her performance on Britain's Got Talent. This is simply human nature and it will do you well to prepare for this fact. When you become more successful in blogging, or real estate sales, or any business endeavor, people will criticize you. Part of becoming successful will require you to grow a thicker skin. Success will beget some praise, but it will also bring criticism. Be prepared.
