Renting in BC is not all that complicated and fairly well governed by the The Residential Tenancy Act of BC, and both the tenancy act and all the resources available at the BC Residential Tenancy Branch, should likely be the starting point for most prospective Land-Lords.... Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation offers a huge amount of reports, studies and reports, that can offer substantial information for many types of real estate ventures, one of their most relied on reports are the Annual Victoria Rental Market Report and the BC Senior Housing Report, however there are many other useful resources at the CMHC Website
Boma Canada , BOMA BC , ROMS BC Are links to 3 different Landlord Advocacy Organizations that have some public information from their sites, and require membership (at a fee) to gain full access to their substantial resources. We also recently found a new magazine called Canadian Apartment Magazine, and you may want to check it out as well.
In addition there are numerous books, reports and seminars available with all kinds of information about the entire concept of land-lording, investment property ownership, and Property management...
