If you mouse-over any of the images that appear you'll get a text description of the property. Clicking on the photo takes you to my site where you can get additional information. Slideshows like this in different sizes can be embedded on your blog or website. |
Cyndee,
I will prepare a tutorial on this tool in the next few weeks.
The short answer is that I don't have to do any data entry at all. This is a live feed from my MLS that will always be current.
The longer answer is that I have created an account at RealBird and they are doing a lot of the back end work. They work with a lot of different MLS associations around the country but I don't think they work with yours yet. That means that you have to do your own data entry for now. Once you sign up for Real Bird's free listing service you can create a slide show based on your own data entry. Their system also makes it simple to post to other Internet services and it definitely makes Craigslist postings simpler.
Marchel,
This would be a perfect sidebar widget for your blog. You could use this one or the one I posted about a few days ago.
Katy,
It's hard to separate which specific Internet tool generates leads, but this is a very useful way to display properties. I'm very happy with it.

Bo, that's a great question. I don't know if you noticed, but when you mouse over the image you get a text box that provides more detail about the listing. Included in that information is the listing office. If you click on the graphic you will get to my search page. All the listed properties that show up also have the listing agent information when you click through to get the details.
The other important piece of this is that the brokers for all of the listed properties have already agreed that they wanted their properties to be listed on the internet. That's one of the standard check boxes for our MLS and I'm sure most others around the country have something similar. From my broker's side, he had to agree to share our listings in the same fair-to-everybody way in order to sign up for the IDX data feed that helps power our site.
It has been a long answer, but I wanted to make it clear that we are complying with the rules of our local MLS.
Below is the embed code to install the widget on a web page. I think signing up with RealBird for your own account is the best way for you to get access to their tools. They provide some of the most powerful tools and lead generation for my sites.
