It's that time again!  Every two months, Southern Oregon Housing Resource Center/ACCESS Inc. puts on the HUD approved "ABC's of Homebuying" course at Rogue Community College campuses, alternating between Medford and Grants Pass. The next class will be on December 8th from 9 - 4 at the Medford RCC Campus located next to Mattress Land. The cost to attend is $35 which includes the course materials, and a partner may attend for free and share those materials.

This course is a great source of objective information for a First Time Home Buyer wishing to arm themselves with well-rounded, basic knowledge on the road to homeownership. If you are obtaining down payment assistance and/or certain First Time Home Buyer loan programs, a certificate will be issued upon completion of the course that will meet the Agency requirements for most programs used in our area.

Learn the basics of choosing and qualifying for a new home.  Covers mortgages, closing costs, insurance, and acquiring the tools to ask the right questions and make the best decisions. Cost includes $13 textbook fee.

I have been volunteering for SOHRC/ACCESS Inc. as teacher for the "ABC's of Financial Preparation" segment of this course for almost two years,  and have seen many attendees come away from the day with so many questions answered - questions they didn't even know to ask!  If you are considering taking a step on the road to homeownership, this is a great place for you to start.
