Microsoft Outlook 2007 and 2003 Tips

By
Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty

calendar I have Microsoft Office 2007 and I really like Outlook 2007. It can make life a little easier when it comes to managing emails, contacts, notes, tasks and appointments. This little tutorial will show you how to take an email and drag and drop it into your calendar. The nice thing about this feature is you can drag and drop any email into either a task, appointment, note or contact. That way you always have a copy of your email.

Use this feature if you have an airline reservation and you need to make sure you have a copy of your confirmation code and that way it is now in your calendar.

Pay your bills on line? If you get an email reminder just drop it in the task and calendar and never be late. Have an email to show a home and they want an appointment just drag it to the calendar.

I am sure a lot of you know this already but there are some I am sure that do not. Then there are some that forgot how easy it is to do.

Jay, how did I miss this ? I love it, emailing to my TEAM as we all use outlook. I have not gone to 2007, should I ? I hate learning curves. WOW, I didn't know this about dragging and dropping into other modules and I've used outlook since 1997.

Guess your luncheon starts at 11:30 P.M. and goes to 4:30 A.M. Have fun..........

Thanks Chuck appreciate you stopping by.

Missy, I only purchased MS Office because Monika wanted the new tools in Powerpoint and I like Outlook, I would get the whole package if it's not that expensive.

Judy, I am thinking of another short one soon.

Moni, I doubt it. LOL

Jay, what a nice thing to do by showing everyone how to operate their Outlook. I would like to know how and what you used to bring that to us with. I just love this stuff.  Thank you and have a wonderful holiday.

Thanks Lisa I appreciate the comment.

Rick, Hope it helped.

Gena, it is a free tool from Techsmith called Jing, they produced another great tool called snagit. The nice thing is that Jing is hosted on an outside server.

Hi Jay, ok, here goes. I'll admit it here 'in public'.. I use and have used Outlook Express for a long time. just my preference. I wouldn't use the calendar and other features if normal Outlook.. i dont have a fancy phone to sync anything with, so express works for me. Plus I have all my multiple identities in express, and dont want to bother transferring it all. Feels like express less resource intensive also..

ps. I do prefer Outlook to back up emails though.. the .pst files are great. that's what sucks about Express.. but I'll live :)

enjoyed your tutorial.. keep em coming. i don't think people realize the power of drag and drop throughout many windows applications and programs. :)

later gator

Great demo.  I dont know if everyone knows but you can go under a contact and pull up activities and see all the emails that have been sent /received by the contact.
