Recently the City of Westminster held it's Annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Celebration.  I'm a member of the City Council and thought it would be interesting just to listen while folks in the crowd surrounding the tree were waiting for Santa to arrive.

This event, much like the Fallfest is taking off with a great response.  I guess because local residence feel like they are part of a small town community. 

As I listened to folks in the crowd talking, they were saying, "this was a great evening of celebration", "the kids are loving the excitement of seeing Santa", "Westminster knows how to bring people together".

Hearing the many comments, made me proud of being involved in the community.  I was born and raised in this town 50 years ago.  I still remember the sidewalks piled full of shoppers.  My parents use to park their car along the street just to watch and meet friends shopping. 

WoW!  wouldn't it be a great thing for the yester years to return and small town and community come back together.  I learned alot on Saturday by just listening and being humbled.
