I'll call my theory the "Convenience Store Economic Outlook" where YOU can predict the future!
Millions of dollars are paid to analysts each year to determine our economic condition and direction. Now you can effectively draw insight into this complicated and sometimes daunting field. Take a moment and look at your loose change wherever you happen to keep it. Do you notice anything odd happening? As the economy slips downward I've noticed more and more older coins coming in to circulation. Recently two pre 1965 silver quarters and a dime have been found. Sadly, I believe that the kids Piggy Banks are being pilfered. Being slightly numismatic over the years I've watched this trend repeat itself during similar times. Friends working at 2 convenience stores I frequent have advised me in the past when they see an upsurge of purchases made with coins. One of them actually collects anything older than 1960 for me and I might get a little grab bag of old pennies to sort through every once in a while. I pass them along to nieces, nephews and children of friends who've shown an interest in the past. When the stores run out of change to make your purchase even, then you'll know the economy has turned. I think it was Ben Franklin who said "Watch your pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves."
