Well, things are not all that bad in our real estate market in North Mississippi.  There has been a slight slow down but it's been caused mostly by the national media which has clouded buyer's perspective of real estate investing.  We are in a buyer's market currently and there are many great deals that are here to be taken advantage of.  In our local market we have not seen a large reduction in prices but there has been a slow down in new construction due to a surplus of homes, mainly new construction on the market.

Now, I said all of that to say this...  Now is the time in our local market for investors to buy properties at great prices.  I have several great investment opportunities currently for someone looking for a profitable long term investment. 

There is a subdivision in Desoto County (last time I checked Desoto was the 26th fastest growing county in the nation) that was foreclosed on by the lender.  The subdivision is already developed with curb and gutter.  The infrastructure is in place.  The foreclosing lender is offering this 66 lot subdivision for a great price.  Our local market is already starting to pick back up and for the right investor, there is money to be made on this subdivision.

There is also a piece of commercial property in a prime growing location in Desoto county that the seller will allow me to sell for almost half the price that the surrounding properties have sold for.  There is a huge development potential for this property!

Also, if there is any in the California, Nevada, etc. markets where home prices are much higher than the national average, Desoto County Mississippi is the place for you to invest.  For example, if someone sold a home or piece of property in one of these higher priced markets, they could come to North Mississippi and purchase a home of their own and several investment properties for the same amount that they had in the one property in the higher priced market.
