Just Do It! (15 Minutes a Day)

Let’s face it. The majority of us are not "fans" of household chores. We come up with every excuse in the book not to do them.

Cleaning Supplies

I work too much

My life is so hectic

My kids won’t listen

I don’t have time

By the time I get home I’m too tired

I don’t want to spend my weekend cleaning the house

It is so hard to keep it clean

I don't like doing chores

For Sellers, excuses are out of the question. Chores must be done. Sellers must ensure that their homes are clean and ready to show at all times. This simple tip works. It makes a real difference. Buyers are always impressed with a fresh and clean home.

Just Do It! (15 Minutes a Day)

Take 15 minutes out of your day to complete household chores: fold a basket of laundry; vacuum your bedroom; clean a bathroom; Sweep and mop the floors; or load the dishwasher.

Don’t be the only one. Get the entire family involved.  Make a game out of it by setting a timer and assigning everyone an area in the home to clean. Just Do It! You may stop at 15 minutes or it may be just the beginning of a complete scrub down.

Tracey: Attractive, well written post. Staying on top of household chores makes it so much easier to say yes to buyer appointments. Getting the family to partipate is a win win.

Tracey - this is great advise for sellers - also for the rest of us in keeping our homes well.  Spend that 15 minutes a day for a priceless result!

Tracey, what a great way to help Sellers, and really all of us, make a decision to just give a minuscule 15 minutes to chores.  My fifteen minutes start now :-)

Tracey, it doesn't take that much to do a little every day.    Sellers MUST keep it clean!   Great advise!

I keep trying to tell myself to just exercise 15 minutes a day.  I always make the excuses you made, but really I'm sure I waste 15 minutes on other things.  And 15 minutes is better than nothing, so would certainly help me, even if it's not as much as I should.  Doing that 15 minutes and household chores 15 minutes and that is only 30 minutes out of my day used!  With that perspective I really have no excuse....way to kick me in the pants.  -Kasey

15 minutes should be very achieveable and by the time the weekend rolls around you already have an hour and 15 minutes of chores out of the way!

Tracey,  I get caught up in all those excuses too with my own home ... which I am not selling.  I've hired house cleaners but the standard of care and cleaning is not up to my expectations therefore I continue to relegate the chore to myself.  For sellers, it must be done.  If it takes more than 15 minutes to keep the home clean, then they must spend whatever time it takes to leave a clean, fresh, I want to buy this home feeling for buyers!  Great post!
