I love facebook.  I think it is a great networking tool, but I think too many people don't use it the way they should.  I set up a group about a year ago and have over 70 fellow Realtors from my company around the country in that group.  I have posted to the blog, and comments in that group and no one has responded or taken the time to write their own, thus, making the group pointless.  So far I have found AR to be much more helpful in connecting to fellow Realtors.  I think if properly utilized, facebook could be a great tool.  Until then I will keep using it to keep in touch with friends from college.

Hi Emily,

I'm looking to use Facebook to find consumers, who plan to buy or sell.  Have you had any success picking up clients from your profile?

Most of the people I have talked to are people I know, or others in the business.  It doesn't mean that it can't be done, but I have yet to tap that market.

I think Facebook is still quite new to the business world. It will be very interesting to see where it is six months from now as more people become familiar with the site.

I agree that you are proabablly just "ahead of your time" and there is a long term benefit of being on facebook.  I haven't been that great about adding friends to my page.  I'm in a college town so there are tons of people in my area, but most all seem to be below the age of 25.
