Help - I need DATA!

Hello Professional Stagers!

I am a realtor in Bellingham Washington and about to list a big, beautiful (but EMPTY) spec house! I really want the seller to stage it but he works well with numbers. Do any of you have data that shows 1: How much faster a staged home vs. not a staged home sells and 2: Whether or not staged homes make more money in the end? (Yes, I realize market time is often related to final price but in addition to that...)

Any help you can give is much, much appreciated!!!

According to www.homestagingresource.com there was a 2003 survey of 2000 real estate agents nationwide. The typical cost of a home staging was $212-1089, the increase in sale price was $2275-2841 for an average return of 169%. That was higher than upgrading kitchens and baths, painting the exterior of the home, or replacing carpeting. I haven't been to the site recently, but they might have what you are looking for.

Hi Emily ~ new statistics are being compiled but we have a wonderful and informative group here called Vacant House Staging and New Homes

Read the posts and invite your client to do the same. It should have a huge impact on him when looking at all the before and after pictures and how fast these homes sell.

Emily... ALSO your fellow members of Stage It Forward are working on compiling quarterly data in the Quarterly Quick Staging Stats as you are looking for... right now their is nothing. But be patient.

If we all work together we can compile good data we need.
