13 Comments on An Otherworldly Sky at the Grove Park Inn ~ Speechless Sunday
Hi Mona, Your photographs are beautiful! For some reason, this isn't a sight I would expect to see in Western NC or from the terrace of the Grove Park Inn. But I usually think of Asheville in spring or fall and not in February. Stunning!
Hi MOna- other-wordly definitely.. I love the softer hues, and as usual, your photos are always lovely. Best, Gay
Thanks Linda...it did sort of remind of the dunes by the Don Cezar on St. Pete Beach.
Hi Gay, thank you! It's definitely a very soft scene. Have a wonderful evening.
Gorgeous shots! I wouldn't mind these hanging on a wall in my house.
Gretchen
See the wonders that can show up if you wait? :) Nice shots, Mona!
Mona, Your two photos are amazing. So peaceful. Thanks for sharing. :-)

My mom was recently talking to one of her young great nephews on the phone and they were in different cities looking up at the moon and his little 4 year old self had a hard time understanding that she could see the same moon he could see if he couldn't see her.
Very pretty, Mona! It looks like some kind of grass to me. Oleanders are grown here on the highway dividers and look much more bush-like.
Have a wonderful week!
Gretchen, that's a lovely compliment and I appreciate it.
Laura, those wonders surround us.
Paul, believe it or not I took a dozen in the same place.
Tammy, that's pretty funny. Little kids probably would think there are different skies in different places.
Thanks DeeDee, I only photographed the grassy tops. The bottoms were bushier looking. I doubt it's oleander just sort of reminds me of oleander when I lived in Florida. You have a wonderful week also.
First thing I thought of was "And even though I know how very far apart we are - It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star." It's a beautiful photo, and I love the artistry of it.
Beautiful pictures, my friend - sharing that winter sky makes me realize just how small the world really is! :-)
I love the way you captured the sun through the tall grasses - you are wonderfully artistic (and isn't it cool to be able to photograph the sun in a picture that's not a sunset/sunrise?!)
Mona - The capture of the sun and mists through the grasses provides a delightful mood!
