I'm new to Active Rain and Real Estate in general.  I've been in business since Febuary.  The more I learn, the more I am interested in Green living ideas.  I am incorperating them into my own home and feel like little changes in my lifestyle can have a major impact on the environment and save money.  I enjoy reading the blogs but am wondering if anyone knows a good sites I can research products and learn terms that I am not familiar with.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi John,  the Eco All Stars group is a great place to start!   :)  Glad to have you in the group.  I can't think of any sites off hand but read around in the group and you will find some great sites.

Hey John!  Welcome!

Check out my blog.  I love to blog on green resources and provide many links. I would type them all here, but there are too many.  A great start though is www.getwithgreen.com.  I blogged about them today.

Hi John,

There are a ton of sites and a ton of topics to learn about. I've been trying to start a green website myself, but keep coming up with new information and can't get my hands around it all!!

Here's a few places to start:

Prefab houses: i thought some of these were particularly interesting

http://fabprefab.com/

http://www.dwell.com/homes/green
http://buildinggreen.tv/

http://www.focusgreennow.com/
http://www.globalgreen.org/

http://www.ecobroker.com/
http://www.treehugger.com/
http://www.greenbuilder.com/realestate/
http://energycenter.org/

Selling and Finding Green Homes:

http://www.greenhomesforsale.com/

http://www.listedgreen.com/

http://www.lowimpactliving.com/

http://www.greenbuilder.com/realestate/

Eventually, I will have a couple of my sites live. I am based in Southern California, but my first site will be an informational site on Green Housing that will apply to anyone. My other site will be exclusively for Green Homes for sale in San Diego.

Best of luck!

Hi John - Good question and you came to the right place! Be sure to go back in the pages of the ECO All Stars. The members all bring a lot to the table. You can also read my "Yes Joan There is a Green Information Highway" post I wrote back in September which includes links to many of my favorite sources of information!

Hi John-

I'm pretty new to Eco-Allstars too and I have found this group to be a wealth of information and support. Regarding your home: Try going to www.purelycotton.com - they sell paper-products made from cotton (sustainable resource). For business materials - try www.sustainablegroup.net - They make GREAT products and can point you in the right direction for recycled paper (can't remember that one right now)

Anyway,

Good luck!

Emily
