Chestnut Hill is a wealthy suburban village located six miles west of downtown Boston, Massachusetts.  Chestnut Hill is not an incorporated municipal entity, but rather encompasses parts of three separate towns/cities: the city of Boston, the town of Brookline and the city of Newton, Massachusetts.  The part of Chestnut Hill within the city of Boston is located within parts of Boston's Brighton and West Roxbury neighborhoods.  The part of Chestnut Hill in the city of Newton is in one of the thirteen villages of Newton, also called Chestnut Hill.  Chestnut Hill's borders are roughly defined by the Zip Code 02467.

The main campus of Boston College is located within Chestnut Hill (the Law School  campus of Boston College is located within the village of Newton Centre, another one of the thirteen village of the city of Newton}. Parts of Chestnut Hill  have been designated historic districts by the National Register of Historic Places.

Chestnut Hill is served by the B, C and D brances of the MBTA Green Line.  The B line stops are South Street and Boston College.  The C Line stop is Cleveland Circle.  The D Line stops are Reservoir and Chestnut Hill.

Three malls and many restaurants and shops are located in Chestnut Hill.  The malls are the Atrium Mall, The Mall at Chestnut Hill and the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center.
