U.S. Naval Academy welcomes the first female commandant.
Vows fairness to all
Vows to maintain high standards for men and women and will not favor
one sex over the other. Navy Capt. Margaret Deluca Klein is the first woman
to hold the adadeny's Number 2 post.
"My job is to show them good leadership" says Capt. DeLuca Klein who
vows to treat all mids fairly.
Captain Klein is recently served as cheif of staff for the commander of Carrier
Strike Group Eight and was deployed abord the carrier USS Eisenhower,
based in Norfolk, Virginia.
Minneapolis' first female fire chief has been demoted just this week for improper conduct. She gets to remain in the fire department as part of an agreement. It's a disappointment when the women who are "first" do not perform professionally. Since Captain Klein has obviously served for some time, she will probably be a model other young women will be able to follow. Hooray for that!
And . . . I'd love to see that antique show!
