Track your listings with Google Alerts

Real Estate Agent with Realty Negotiations

As promised, this is a follow up to All ye Marketeers, Mind Your Listings

For those of you who would rather travel in time and repurchase your home at 2005 prices than post just 1 photo of any of your listings, you may lean towards the Tech Savvy Category. Yes, you may strive to provide a superior online marketing presence for your listings. Not only do you obtain numerous great shots for the MLS listing – you’re going to take advantage of the many advertising outlets out there to reach that enormous Internet public shopping for houses on their computers! You’re a Marketeer in my books!

I mentioned in All ye Marketeers, Mind Your Listings the trade offs we make when we work haaaarder to market a listing and would like you to consider using Google Alerts to trace your Internet activity with your listings.

I’d recommend using your MLS# on one alert and your property’s address in variations, ie, with or without street/circle, etc., on another alert (or two).

For more great ways to use Google Alerts , and so much more, you MUST visit Brad Carroll’s awesome blog. And be sure to follow the links from his AR blog to his other blog with even more great insight! He has a supply of great ideas which I won't write about here.... my competitors might be reading...

Thank you to Realestateclipart.com for supplying the graphics!

It's interesting. I spoke with Brad some months ago, and am still waiting on what he said he would send me. Since then, they have not returned email to them either. Hope you have better luck with them.

Thank you for your information here. It's helpful.

Cheers

Gary I have used google alerts myself and not had a problem.  Have you had a problem with them?  I'd simply click on the link in my blog and try to set up a new alert.  Good luck!

I have a ton of Google Alerts set up, but I never thought to do one on MLS numbers. You are so clever, Natalie! Thanks for the tip.

Thanks, Elizabeth.  Gar Anderson from NAR spoke at our 4th quarter membership meeting for our local Assoc. of Realtors Nov. 20th and raised so many questions...  I took 8 pages of chicken scratch and I think every one around me thought I was a geek!  It dawned on me that Google Alerts would be a great answer to watching our listings.  Given that most people had never heard of Facebook, nor did they blog, I didn't bother jumping up and exclaiming I had a possible solution to one of the little q's raised...but I'm doing it here, and I'm glad you think I'm clever!
