Girls' Day Tea Gathering - Peach Blossom Festival

The month of March is the time of the Hina Matsuri or the Doll Festival, traditionally taking place on the third day of the third month with displays of dolls representing the Emperor and Empress.

Lighting the lights,

The shadows of the dolls,

One for each

This Japanese Tea Ceremony is also known as Momo no Sekku or Peach Blossom Festival. The festival, and the dolls, are closely associated with the girls of the family, so much so that Girls’ Day is an alternate name for the festival. Come and be a guest in the relaxed setting of the Tea House at Sunrise Springs and savor the atmosphere and flavors of the tearoom while celebrating Girls’ Day. While the charcoal burns in the hearth, guests are invited to have a bowl of fragrant tea and traditional Japanese sweets. Guests signing up for the monthly teas do not need to have any guest or tea experience. Stools are provided for the comfort of those with difficulty sitting directly on the tatami mats. Please come and join us!

Fee: $12 Chado members, $15 non-members. Seating times are 1:00 and 3:00pm.  Reservations are necessary, please contact Tonia by Email santafetonia@gmail.com or call 505-919-9277

I'll see you in the neighborhood,

Michael
