ActiveRain Update, Feb 20th
Many of us at ActiveRain have been having computer glitches in the past several days. I am re-blogging this post from AR as it explains what is going on. I thought maybe I was the only one but apparently we are all in the same boat; no comment updates, logging on problems, posts just disappearing when we click enter, and just the slowness of it all.
I am sure with such great support, all of these problems will be fixed soon. Let's all give the Members of ActiveRain a vote of support.
I would like to apologize to everyone for the issues regarding ActiveRain. I know you must be tired of the "we're working on it" answer but it's the truth. Our developers are taking shifts to continue to get this fine machine running smoothly again.
We had to do the server switch. It's a big job that will benefit the good of AR although it may not feel like it right now. Prior to the server switch, I had propositioned 100 members to help me with testing. In doing so they relieved many issues that we as a Community are not burdened with. However, we couldn't forecast the issues that happened when we actually did the switch Thursday night.
"Don't fix what ain't broken".....this is a phrase I continue to hear around AR. With the increase in activity and major numbers coming out of ActiveRain the server update had to be done to handle it. We will get to that place where things are working more efficiently. Our goal here is to make this place run faster for you, our Community.
Log in Errors
The new Phusion error was seen by many this morning. Everyone should be able to log on now. Three actions are in production to resolve this issue in the future per the development team.
Outside Blogs
These should be up. Some members are seeing odd code at the top and some are having troubles accessing their outside blogs on Chrome. These issues have been escalated and are being looked into.
Comment Notifications
They are still down. Please be sure to continually check your posts for new comments. I know this is a big one and our developers are aware of this as well.
Time Stamp
AR's Time Stamp has switched from Eastern to Pacific. This will play a role in your ten posts in a week and comment points. It may take a little getting used to. If this is a problem for anyone in February, email me and I'll make up the point differences.
Points
Points may not be showing up in your My Home feed but you are still getting them. You can always click "Points" from your profile to see the breakdwon.
This quick update is to keep you guys aware of what's going on in Seattle. I know many of you are frustrated and I feel you. We're going to get there guys and gals; your support, patience and understanding are very much appreciated.
