Beware of what you sign

By
Real Estate Agent

There is at least one real estate brokerage (not mine) in Florida that is inserting language into their offers under addtional terms which gives them permission to put a lien on the sellers property.

So basically if you are a seller you are allowing the real estate company representing the property to put a lien on your property in order for them to get paid.

I would advise my sellers to strike this clause out or ask that it be taken out of the contract before signing it.

All the best

Greg, whoa...that's scary.  Are agents allowed to write legal language in that blank?  In NC, agents who don't want to take a chance on getting their licenses yanked have attorneys draft those types of clauses.  That said, what a shady practice!  I hope not many sellers are getting caught with that.

On another note, great branding with TeamWorks "Relax. We'll do the work.  Brilliant. Have a good day.

Greg, I will tell you one thing, it seems that we have addendums for every single broker, that is exclusive to their company.  What happened to just usiing the forms provided by the state?
