Today, Presidents' Day is a holiday/working day depending on your marketplace. A few years back, we were in escrow on our home in Los Angeles, and had 3 weeks to find a new home in Napa--our then, new destination. We went up for Presidents' Day weekend to look at homes, and found one. No doubt many of you are showing homes today.
Since the phones are quiet and all our partners wanted the day off, we happily have deemed this as a reflection day. We review our work for the month and make plans for the following month. We usually do that every Monday for about an hour.
Having a whole day to do that is a luxury. It inspires us and renews us, and we often come up with new strategic ideas. Of course, this involves hanging out by our favorite reflecting pool, the Pacific Ocean. We have had low tides for serveral days at -1. This creates many reflecting pools in the sand. Formal gardens often have inspiration points highlighted by a reflecting pool. It is a good place to think and put our thoughts in order. It is the work of no work.
Take a moment, and reflect. I always like to quote Wayne Dyer, who has his own version of "Don't Just Sit There, Do Something", as "Just Sit There, Do Nothing." That is the work.
Happy President's Day. Cheers Ron & Alexandra
