The City of Santa Clarita has been nominated for an award as the Most Business-Friendly City by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp.

This new award was established to recognize and encourage cities to take an active role in helping businesses create new jobs in Los Angeles County.

Santa Clarita's business-friendly environment includes offering site location assistance and expedited plan reviews and permits, as well as the lack of a business license fee or a utility user tax. Santa Clarita also has an educated work force and land available for contruction.

Other finalists include Burbank, Lancaster, Long Beach and El Segundo.
