When I read that on Maureen's blog that Kristal had spotted Rich shoveling snow in Denver, I thought what a gentleman!  I wish he'd stop by to do my driveway!  That'll never happen right??  A bit later, imagine my surprise when I heard a kufuffle and rukus going on outside, and opened my door to find none other than our own fine Rich Jacobson, decked in a festive hat; dutifully shovelling snow.  It took him a good hour to finish the whole driveway, after which he insisted on clearing my elderly neighbors drive and clearing her car off to boot.  What a nice guy!  A steaming cup of hot chocolate compliments of old Mrs. Forester was his reward.

I figured by this time he had worked up an appetite so I invited him out to lunch, my treat. Knowing how much he loves sushi, we decided to pay a visit to the best sushi bar here in Boulder.  After stuffing ourselved silly on nigiri (BTW, Rich, you're gonna have to start watching that belly, you'r not getting any younger you know!) and a few bottles of Sapporo later, Rich said it was time to move on.

There was a tense moment when I remembered that Denver International Airport, DIA was closed due to the huge snowfall!  But Rich assured me that he had arranged for alternative means of transport.  He also said something about having a lot of travelling to do coming up later this week, and that his mode of transportation was very reliable and very fast!  I wonder what could be faster than an airplane??

As we parted I wished him a wonderful bicentennial celebration and we toasted our sake to 50 more!  I was feeling embarrassed that I didn't have a birthday gift for him.  In fairness, I wasn't expecting him, but I usually have something around the house, you know those reject re-gifts, that can be used in a pinch?  But we are so strapped this Christmas  that I've set aside all my re-gifts for family and have been crocheting pot-holders for the rest.  Then I remembered that after our recent snow I discovered a possible new source of income, and had some samples in my car.  I gave him a free sample! Rich said there should be a great market for this on Ebay!

Happy Birthday Rich!!

Hey, it's my birthday too!  What's up with that?

Just kidding!  I wish it was my birthday, so that everyone could put up my picture with my website and cellular number on their active rain photo!  FREE MARKETING at its BEST!

Mmmm, PEACH!

What a fun day this has turned into!  Who thought someone else's 50th birthday could be so much fun!

12/22/2006 02:54 PM by Linda Davis (RE/MAX Realty Group)

Rich!  glad you enjoyed it.  I just still can't believe a wished you a happy 200th birthday.  SO EMBARRASSING  Hope you got a laugh at my expense over it ;)  BTW, I was kidding about the belly; being ex-navy I'm sure you've got no worries in that department.

Thanks to everyone else.  I certainly had fun writing it.  I stumbled across the 'snowman poop' on istockphoto for anyone else who's interested

Maureen F ... I made him sit up & beg so he could get a liver treat!

Elaine & Maureen. liver eh?  I'll let Teresa know to send back that fruitcake.

12/22/2006 03:45 PM by Jessica Hughes (Ambiance Staging)

Liver??? Yuck! Now, give me some Unagi or Maguro or Ebi, and I'll roll over and play dead all day long!

12/22/2006 03:47 PM by Rich Jacobson ~ ActiveRain Community Builder (ActiveRain Corporation)

hmmmm, unagi is one of my favorites.  no soy sauce needed.  I love the dragon rolls (unagi w/ avocado). After your sushi blog I made lunch date with a friend to go for sushi.  neither of us have been since we got pregnant with our 2nd children (1 year 4 months ago for me).  then it snowed.  :(

12/22/2006 03:53 PM by Jessica Hughes (Ambiance Staging)

Jessica, you could always send your husband out for sushi, if he REALLY loved you!

12/22/2006 03:59 PM by Rich Jacobson ~ ActiveRain Community Builder (ActiveRain Corporation)

JESSICA: ah shucks you is just soooo sweet to do this for Rich. Very Clever. Rich owes you... I think a shiny new sports car would be nice.

ELAINE: ROFLMAO!!!! THAT IS TO GOOD!

Rich it forward...

ME

I got a Lychee.

Hmmm...Rich it forward!....kinda has a certain "ring" to it!

(it takes two to Mango!)

12/22/2006 04:36 PM by Rich Jacobson ~ ActiveRain Community Builder (ActiveRain Corporation)

Rich! Unfortunately my husband hates sushi.  I thought it would just take some time and eventually he'd come around, but nope almost 7 years later he still hates it.  He keeps asking me why I am trying to get him hooked on the most expensive food there is?  the $7 chicken teriaki means more sushi for me.

Craig!  Lychee; almost as bad as fruitcake

(I use the ! because I can't find the squiggly on my laptop)

12/22/2006 04:40 PM by Jessica Hughes (Ambiance Staging)

Jessica, you are just TOO funny!  What an imagination and sense of humor!  The snowman poop-in-a-bag was a nice touch.  Thanks for the laughs.  :-)

12/22/2006 04:49 PM by South Florida Real Estate • Leanne Paynter (HomesCo.com)

Craig, do you mean you're going to pitch in for the sports car?  I'm feeling generous today, so we'll go halves OK?  I'll send you the bill.  How about something classy and British?  Aston Martin DB5?

Rich it forward?  I like it too!  I wanna get rich.

12/22/2006 04:54 PM by Jessica Hughes (Ambiance Staging)

Or if you're more into modern cars, how about the TVR tuscan? James bond stylee with a reasonable price tag.

Nah..... doesn't match with the hat.  You gotta help me stage this Craig.  I'm terrible when it comes to color.

12/22/2006 05:08 PM by Jessica Hughes (Ambiance Staging)

Happy 50th Rich..It's all downhill from here, hee, hee...I know I just turned 51...just kidding, okay maybe not...Have a great day!!

Hilarious blog, Jessica....and so creative!  One year my sister gave me "snowman poop" for Christmas with a little note that said:

You've been naughty
So here's the Scoop
You're getting nothing
But Snowman Poop!

Happy Birthday, Rich!

Jessica - again, thanks for a totally hilarious ROMP in the snowbank at your house today! I would shovel your driveway anytime! Thanks for making this such an incredible day for me! You Rock!

12/23/2006 01:23 AM by Rich Jacobson ~ ActiveRain Community Builder (ActiveRain Corporation)

Kristal! what the neighbors can hear you?  but you live in Colorado?  I thought you wouldn't have neighbors for miles; what with all the buffalo in your back yard.  I have a feeling that you laughed the hardest over the bicentennial fauxpas.

Rich! glad to oblige!

12/23/2006 01:38 AM by Jessica Hughes (Ambiance Staging)

Jessica ~ the downfall of living in a townhome, you have neighbors.  I don't have buffalo in my back yard, they'd ruin the golf course!

Your bicentennical mistake?  hahaha Last week you referred to me as "very very old"  I hardly believe it was a mistake.

Now dig yourself out of that one you little sweet young thing!  :)

YIKES!!!...."Very, very old????"  If there were the case, then what's that make ME? Extinct?

12/23/2006 11:39 AM by Rich Jacobson ~ ActiveRain Community Builder (ActiveRain Corporation)

Jessica....

You have me in tears that I can hardly see the screen as I type.   As everyone else said...  this was hysterical. Thanks for the great laugh. I am single and live alone, so as I laughed out loud twice.... it was only me that heard it.   lol

This was awesome...Happy Holidays.

Rich... if you read this, what is Santa Rich bringing me on Monday?

Jeff - uh, how about a membership to Match.com?...hehe

12/23/2006 02:17 PM by Rich Jacobson ~ ActiveRain Community Builder (ActiveRain Corporation)

Rich.... ha ha ha....  boy, you sure like busting my chops.  :o)

Yes people, I am single and the dating world stinks. SO I joined a dating site to try and meet people.  It does work.... at least for me 4 years ago. But that's a long story.

ANyhow....   Again, Jessica, great job here. This was truly hilarious.

12/23/2006 03:32 PM by Jeff Belonger -- The FHA Expert.com -- FHA Loans -- FHA mortgages -- Mortgages (Infinity Home Mortgage Company, Inc)

Jeff, you didn't have to go into detail about it! I wasn't trying to bust your chops! Okay, then how about a subscription to ESPN the Magazine, but I get to keep the MP3 player? Better?

12/23/2006 06:57 PM by Rich Jacobson ~ ActiveRain Community Builder (ActiveRain Corporation)

Rich... I was teasing about busting my chops....  she the smiley face... lol  <<<  hey, look....

Do you get an MP3 player with that?

I am just speechless....
