Well, I was double MEMED today.  Once from Blanca C., and once from Brett Mumaw

So... here are my 5 Things you may not know about me.....

  • First ever concert->  The Jackson 5, Michael Jackson Victory Tour (my parents took me, and all of you laughing know it was really cool at the time).

Last concert seen->  Pearl Jam, this past summer (3x over summer, I had some spare time).

Worst Concert ever went to->  I was crazy enough to goto the first re-union of Woodstock, not the one with all the riots.  Just the one with all the mud.  Take away the mud, it was a good time.

Best Concert Ever->  Very early 90's, most of these bands were obscure still, then all became popular months after....  Pearl Jam, opening for Smashing Pumpkins, who opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers, all in one show.

  • My daughter Mia, spends time equally between her mother's house and my house.  She is about to turn 7 years old!!!!  I can't believe it.
  • I really am not a good checkers player, but to my knowledge, I've never once lost a game.
  • I am originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan.  My father, mother, and sister all work together in Real Estate there.  When I finally decided to try Real Estate, after 10 years of the Hotel Business, I was tied to Chicago and could not relocate back to Michigan.  My father began a RE/MAX franchise office just after the very beginning of RE/MAX itself.  This was in 1977 or 1978, and he was one of the initial RE/MAX offices in Michigan, when the brand was not well known at the time.
  • In college, I somehow became quite a talented foosball (table soccer) player.  We would enter tournaments for money on the weekends and play for beverages.  That was my college job.

So... those are my FIVE things, hope you did not know them already.

I will tag the following people for a meme.

Hope I'm not duplicating any one who has been memed already.

Brian

Hi Blanca, not really too much of a concert buff... I have a pretty narrow window of what I see.  Althought I have plenty of interesting stories from several concerts.  I don't make it out to too many concerts these days, times have changed a bit 10 years after college.

Marci-  The Jackson's were good.  I must have been around 10 years old.  All I remember is watching Michael Jackson, and then wondering who all the other guys were.  It was a good show though.

Thanks, Brian

Wow, my first meme.  It's up and I even followed your concert idea.  Brought back a few memories. Of course being a bit older than yourself, it was a different style of music.

John- great MEME.  That is a lot of information we did not know.  I think this MEME concept is great to learn about others activities outside of what we are already learning and sharing with each other here on AR.  Great networking!!!

Blanca-  for the most part, I don't make it out to concerts too often these days.  I will always try to catch any Pearl Jam show I can.  Any other potential concert would be something of that same genre and time period, early-mid 90's rock.  But really, I don't try to go very often anymore.

There is talk of a Dave Matthews Band concert this summer at Wrigley Field.  I'm a slight fan, not huge, but would love to see a concert at Wrigley Field if the opportunity presents itself.

Otherwise, it seems my concert going is now catered towards my daughter.  She wanted me to take her to some concert last month, but we never got the chance to look into tickets.  Some musical kids group called the Cheetah Girls or something like that, a 7 year old girl's dream.  I didn't rush into checking for tickets, so we were not able to go.  But I think I'm on the hook now for next time they are in town.  Wish me luck!!
