Like all Realtors, this Quarryville Realtor uses his car a lot. Not only for business but personal use too. That means that the recent spike in gas prices has really hit home. I get into the City of Lancaster about three times a week. Most often to work out, so I try my best to make efficient trips and include business when possible. Between the city and my home town of Quarryville I get to check out numerous gas prices along the way. Usually while I'm enjoying my first cup of coffee. (I'm a very careful driver while drinking coffee thank you. Although I may swear off coffee after this trip.)
This past week I was cruising around to the gas stations that usually have the best prices and making comparisons. I know, I have to be careful not to use too much gas looking and there by suck up any savings I might get. I have my route planned for maximum efficiency.
After several “drive byes” I determined the best buy for the morning and returned to the station with the “bargain.” I say that with tongue in cheek. As I pulled up to the pump that cup of coffee that I was sipping had the normal effect. I quickly got out of my car and high tailed it to the restroom. After experiencing relief I returned to the pump to get my gas. I pumped the tank full and then looked at my receipt. To my horror I discovered that in the time I spent going to the restroom the price had gone up by nearly five cents!
Come on! That's just not right! I couldn't put off nature's call any longer! Why should I be penalized? Especially after doing my homework. Okay, this Quarryville Realtor knows that life's not fair. I learned that a long time ago. So for all you folks concerned about my sipping coffee while driving I'm going to make you happy. I quit drinking coffee. At least until after I fill up with gas.
