Cities and states are reeling from the effects of the loss of hundreds of million to billions of dollars in revenue generating from the current Real Estate fiasco. Consequently, services are being cut to mean and lean standards in every sector. Those employed are happy to be and many city and county workers are expecting lay-offs
WORSE BEFORE IT GETS BETTER
It is this type of news that President Obama will have to defend as it happened on his watch. It is tempting to go after former President Bush, but that still leaves problems unsolved. Any energy directed toward this subject has to be focused like a laser to be effective
MORE IS NOT BETTER, BUT IT IS ALLOWED
I am always reminded that there is enough of everything on this planet for everyone and that it can be accessed easily here in the United States better than elsewhere. What I will never come to understand or appreciate how people are not content to have health, steady income, and a place to lay their heads.
CONGRESS SETS A POOR EXAMPLE FOR LEADERSHIP
I look at people in government and see how they set up fat pensions with all the perks for the future and for their NOW now as well. There are millions of people all across America working in state, federal and local jobs that if you halved what they were making, their quality of life wouldn't even blink. This is where the unions keep us bound
LOWER AND MIDDLE CLASS LIVE HERE TOO
If we do not include the lower and middle class in our now and future planning, there will be hell to pay down the line. Poor people don't care about going green, recycle, traveling or buying things. If that segment grows, eventually it will have an adverse affect on the economy and morale of the nation.
REMEMBER WHEN ONLY ONE PERSON PER HOME WORKED?
Job creation should include a decent wage where people can make their paychecks do all the normal things that it should do. It hasn't been 25 years where I remember that one household member only needed to work. The other stayed home or worked part time for all of life's goodies. Now, both have to work and even up to the entire household to make a home work. Of course that requires jobs.....
PROBLEM/SOLUTIONS...ARE NOTHING NEW
Exciting, sobering times we live in. No matter what problems we face, none are greater than the solutions available. It is how and when we implement those solutions that worries me
