You Might Like To Comment, but...

Have you ever read a terrific blog with great anticipation of getting to the bottom of the story and giving your input on the topic just to find that the blogger had disabled the comments?

I've been frustrated by this several times in the past few years here at AR.  The good news:  Many times the original blog provides great fodder for a new blog post.

I was going to disable the comments to show you what I mean, but that's just not right!

See you at the top, or from the top!

Sometimes, the blogger isn't aware that he has disabled the comment feature. I had to point that out to one blogger via email. So maybe you should email the blogger directly in case he didn't know?

I've seen that a lot on re-blogs. Either way, it's no fun.

I think disabling comments on re-blogs is polite, to allow the original blogger to receive the comments. But what's the purpose of disabling comments on your own blog? Doesn't make sense?

Good morning Cameron. I hear you and understand but to each his own. Re-blogs are one thing, but when I see it otherwise there is a message there: I don't care what you think. Too bad, I won't be back.

Hi Cameron, thanks for the comment on my post.  In reply.  The buyer's lender and escrow are requiring a wall agreement or encroachment agreement and now the buyer is demanding one.

Sounds like the adage, "money cures all ills" is apt in this circumstance.  Good luck with it.

Cameron, sometimes, if it's not "original content", the comment feature is automatically disabled.  I had that happen a couple of times when I first got here and would cite some article.  Then, I got wise, LOL.

Cameron, I've found it puzzling, too. Maybe people don't realize they shut it off or they just like to talk but not listen...
