The Hancock 128

The Hancock was built in 1828 by the William Hunneman Co. of   Boston, MA. It was the 128th engine built by the company and bears that number as it's serial number. The engine was originally deliver to Charlestown, Ma. and attended it's first muster while there in 1855. In 1870 the Hancock was sold to Reading , Ma.and in   later it was sold to the Somerville, MA VFA for muster competition.

In 1897 the Hancock was sold to Ashburnham, MA where it has been ever since and compiled quite an impressive muster over the last 100 years
