"Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" Con Their Way onto Arts Barn Stage This Weekend in Kentlands 

Dirty, Rotten ScoundrelsThe Arts Barn Theatre Series presents "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," produced by Damascus Theatre Company in partnership with the Arts Barn, with music and lyrics by David Yazbek, and book by Jeffrey Lane.  The musical runs February 10 through 26, 2012, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Admission is $18, $16 for City residents. This show contains adult language and is recommended for those 10 and above, with parental guidance suggested.

Based on the popular 1988 film of the same name, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" centers on two con men living on the French Riviera.  The suave and sophisticated Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living talking rich ladies out of their money.  Small-time crook Freddy Benson swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother’s failing health.

The two attempt to work together, only to find that this small French town isn’t big enough for the two of them.  They agree on a settlement:  the first one to extract $50,000 from heiress Christine Colgate wins.  The other must leave town.  A hilarious battle of cons ensues, keeping audiences laughing, humming and guessing until the end.
