I gave myself a new title last year - Real Estate "Sidekick."
My fiance and business partner became a licensed real estate agent in 2004, and this is the best job he has ever had. He loves it, and is very good at it. I became licensed as a real estate agent in January of 2007 so I could help Jim with his (our) business and to become more involved in the real estate market. I also work for the Shoshone County Board of Commissioners part-time, and I have been at that job for 10 years. So when I'm not working with the public in a government capacity, I'm the close companion that assists my partner in our real estate adventures.
I don't take this position lightly - these duties include, but aren't limited to: comic relief, bravery (some homes and clients are very scary), resourcefulness (marketing, , organizing, websites, blogging etc.), accompany partner in real estate activities, and provide the emotional connection my partner needs.
There have been a lot of famous sidekicks, and their partners would not have been the same without them: Just a few examples:
Agent 99: Sidekick to Maxwell Smart (Agent 86)
Artemus Gordon: Sidekick to James West in The Wild Wild West;
Chewbacca: Han Solo's sidekick;
Goose: Sidekick to Maverick in Top Gun;
Kato: Sidekick to The Green Hornet (my favorite);
Robin: Sidekick to Batman;
Spock: Sidekick to James T Kirk in Star Trek;
Boo Boo: Sidekick to Yogi Bear;
Doctor Watson: Sidekick and partner to Sherlock Holmes; and
Tonto: Sidekick to The Lone Ranger
I think everyone in the real estate business could use a good "sidekick."
I'm new to the Active Rain network, and I am learning about blogging, and enjoying the information provided by everyone in the network.
Have a great day!
