Once called North Tarrytown, the name was officially changed to Sleepy Hollow in 1996. The village has its own police and fire departments. The serene residential neighborhoods of Philips Manor and Sleepy Hollow Manor are located on the banks of the mighty Hudson River, as is Sleepy Hollow's train station enabling commuters to be in Grand Central Station in 40 minutes via express service. Beekman Avenue is the village main street complete with stores, condo highrises and restaurants. Phelps Hospital, associated with Sloan Kettering in NYC offers many advanced services and sits right next to the continued care retirement community of Kendal on Hudson.
