Jaguar at Como Park Zoo by Teri Eckholm REALTOR

Even in a cage, a wild animal can be beautiful. Como Park is one of our favorite family places to visit and take photos. I have done this since I was 17 and a freshman at Hamline University. For fun, I would ride my bike a few miles over to Como Park Zoo and take photos of the animals.  There are more fences rules about feeding the animals than when I started taking pictures. Back then the cougars and jaguars didn't have the screens that I had to shoot through here. But the kitties are just as pretty as ever!

Teri, I love to take my camera to the National Zoo.  I've gotten some wonderful shots of the big cats.  They love to pose.

Awwwww. Looks so sweet asleep. We love zoos too and have some great shots over the years. Great capture.

Hi Teri, I have experienced this and it is really something to see a wild animal sleep and at peace. There is something very beautiful in the experience. There is an innocence that is difficult to explain but more easily felt. I wish animals and humans lived more harmonious so each could have their own safe natural territories for natural existence. But I am at the same time very grateful that I could experience them even in a zoo. Zoos today try so hard to provide at least an acceptable healthy environment.

I'm very fond of the cat family members.  Here in California we actually had a Mountain Lion, who was a fraidy cat.  It ran up into a tree, while chased by a German Shepherd.  And that was just this week:-)
