Al GoreFor years I've been listening while sitting on the back burner, not really seeing the importance of Global Warming and my contribution.  I personally decided earlier this year to "Go Green".  Recently, I was happy to see Al Gore awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to communicate this message and help people be aware and take action.  He has committed 100% of the proceeds of the award to the Alliance for Climate Protection, a bipartisan non-profit organization that is devoted to changing public opinion in the U.S. and around the world about the urgency of solving the climate crisis.

I urge you to visit this website to Explore Climate Solutions, read about Climate Heroes, take the 7 Point Pledge, Watch Videos, and Take Action.  Listed below are simple steps you can take to reduce your carbon footprint and help solve the climate change crisis.

Melissa,

I love the concept of "The Not So Big House" by Sarah Susanka; it goes hand-in-hand with green living. A smaller home means less impact on the ecology, fewer material costs and lower heating bills.

Melissa, I have a home that was built in 1941 so I have been spending the last year trying to make it more eco friendly. Great posts.

Melissa, We have insulated the basement and garage area, re-landscaped the front yard with plantings that will require less water in the summer, installed a very efficient new furnace/heat pump, I am all about lower energy bills.
