Local Katy area Groups hosting Volunteer Showcase

 

The Katy YMCA Christian Emphasis Committee is partnering with Compassion Katy to host a unique volunteer event. The event is a showcase featuring numerous non-profit groups that exist in the greater Houston and Katy areas. They will be at a breakfast where all potential individuals, churches and groups who want to volunteer can learn about the showcased non-profit organizations and meet participants representing each of non-profit organizations. The event is being held on Wednesday February 29, 2012 at the Fellowship at Cinco Ranch in the Life Center. The Fellowship at Cinco Ranch is located at 22765 Westheimer Parkway Katy Texas. The breakfast starts at 7:30 A.M. The event is called “A Leap into Service”.

 

The highlight of this meeting will include a panel discussion of the current unmet needs in the Katy and surrounding areas and will discuss how the whole community can partner to meet and hopefully fix some of the issues.

 

Compassion Katy mission is to Simply Serve to “Get out and make a difference in our community” and their goal is “To become the “go to” resource for churches, our community, agencies, and individuals who have the desire to be an indispensable blessing to the city of Katy, Texas.”

 

If you are individual or are part of a group or company that wants to do volunteer work in the Katy community and do not know where to start the process then this meeting should help you figure how and where you can volunteer to help groups who really need the assistance.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. The Showcase is a way for the charities to tell potential volunteers what they do and how these volunteers can hlp. I hope the program boosts the number of local volunteers.

Bob my friend, this sure is a mighty fine sounding event! I would that they'll be able to get a lot folks that have been wanting Volunteer in the communities, but really did not know just how to go about it. Communities all across our Great Country should hold these kind of event, at less once a year.
