Feel the Fear and
Do It Anyway
The Five Love Languages The 7 Habits of
Highly Effective People

Author: Susan Jeffers, Ph.D.

Author: Gary Chapman Ph.D.

Author: Stephen R. Covey

Quick Read!

Susan lays it out here in this self help book and shows us how to identify the fears that are inhibiting one's life, ranging from public speaking and intimacy to aging and rejection, and how to transform frustration and helplessness into power to create success in every aspect of life.

Affirmation!

He sends you flowers when what you really want is time to talk. She gives you a hug when what you really need is a home-cooked meal. The problem isn't your love — it's your love language! There are five different love languages, do you know them?

Personal Change
Stephen Covey's Seven Habits are a simple set of rules for life - inter-related and synergistic, and yet each one powerful and worthy of adopting and following in its own right. For many people, reading Covey's work, or listening to him speak, literally changes their lives. This is powerful stuff indeed and highly recommended.

Book Series!

TWILIGHT tells the story of 17-year-old Bella Swan who moves to the small town of Forks, WA  to live with her father, and becomes drawn to Edward, a pale, mysterious classmate who seems determined to push her away. A three part series and soon to be movie. Local Glendale author Stephenie Meyer really keeps you coming back for more! Not a manly book - all fiction.

Investments

The title is misleading; this book is NOT only for women. This book contains solid investment advice from someone who's "been there and done it", who has worked her way up from being a secretary to being a vice president and became a millionaire along the way. A lot of men can learn from her.

Thank you Tom Plant for tagging me for a Book Meme. I have seen this one other time and found it to be a great way to learn more about AR members and to add to my already long wish list of books to buy! I have to say I am a lover of e-books that allows me to use my ipod and buy them from itunes from time to time!

Now I get to pick three others to share their book preferences..... the following have been tagged -
the lovely, Elizabeth Nieves -  the dynamic duo, Bob & Lisa Hammerstein - and Portland's darling, Jennifer Bukaty !

Candace-You truly are amazing!  Can we get that Girls Night Out set up quickly?  I want to learn how to make posts like this.  It looks so difficult.  Just a side note. I went on this major venture and was determined to figure out how you create these posts.  I just became more confused to say the least.  You are the expert my dear friend and maybe I should just leave it at that :)

Your books choice is fabulous!  I have to say I love President Hinckley.  He Stands For Something, no doubt.

Candace, When do you find time to read?  All these books sound inviting.  I used to read all the time but I just don't MAKE time for it lately.

Candi - I have read several of these, including the Five Love Languages, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and Covey's 7 Habits.  I need to check out the banana book.  It looks interesting to me.  Have a great night!

11/29/2007 05:55 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

Candace... I just know you did this to make me read the "Feel the Fear, Do It Anyway"book. I actually fear that any minute I will be crowned AR's Queen of Fear! Or, perhaps 'Chicken Girl" as my dastardly sisters like to call me ;-)

You have wonderful taste in books! Now that I've been tagged, how shall I ever pick only five among the thousands of close friends I call 'books'??

Thanks girlie :))

Candace, Beautiful book meme and your book choices sound intriguing.
I'll have to check out the Ralph Roberts one for sure.   Covey's book is an ongoing read for me....it's so crammed with concepts that even one page can take me on a million different tangents.

Candace:  NOW you have found another one of my passions. I LOVE to read. Books are my friends. I have often told people that...IF I were ever locked away in prison...I'd be okay if I had my books with me. GREAT choices. The Five Love Languages is fantastic.

And...I'm with Julie on the Girls' night thingy. YOU, my friend, are the master craftsman of beautiful posts. I wanna learn from the master!!!

WOW! Now I'm thinking about my books....hmmmmmmm......  :-)

Aziz - So far it's good, I was able to meet Ralph here this past month at our Association. Thank you for your suggestions and for stopping by!

Elizabeth - Awesome, I can't wait to see your book choices and part of your library! I say we definitely need to find a 'Girl's Night Week Out"...soon!

Barbara- I work with Microsoft Frontpage and Photoshop Elements! It's pretty easy and I collect a lot of magazine ads that appeal to me for color selections and give me ideas!! So glad you came by, hope to see you again!

11/30/2007 10:30 AM by Gilbert Arizona Real Estate - Candace Robinson (HomeSmart )

Teri- I had only ran into a few Book Meme's before I was tagged to do this one. Anything is possible in the rain from my experience. Much like your cute idea on Bookmark sharing, Nancy Riviera has now run with it and organized a group for such a thing!! As for my book choices, the top six squares are books in my library of books that I have collected over the years. As for the current reads I am reading, I get to them typically at night, I keep them by the nightstand, in my briefcase etc. I find stolen moments. Since my kids are grown and little demands at home, I have a lot to quiet time at night. (of course AR has taken a lot of my time too now)!!

11/30/2007 10:37 AM by Gilbert Arizona Real Estate - Candace Robinson (HomeSmart )

Mike - Yep, new to me too! I was tagged by Tom and so I went with it! I enjoyed it. Hmmm, makes we wonder what you read, do you like to read? Thank you for your wonderful words! You're a sweetheart.

Faina - Thank you so much. I have a ton of books that are self-help books if you will. I have this thirst to understand how others think. A lot that cater around love and being in love. A chic thing I think! Thank you for your very kind comment.

Brian - Most of my book selections lean in the girlie department, but the current book I'm reading "Letting Go Of Your Bananas" is pretty terrific. I like quick reads and this one is a good one for everyone! Thank you for your continued support.

11/30/2007 10:45 AM by Gilbert Arizona Real Estate - Candace Robinson (HomeSmart )

Missy- I can't say enough about the book "Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway" by Susan Jeffers. She has a website and has an array of other wonderful books. I picked this book up when I found that they spotlighted her in a Muscle & Fitness magazine back in 1999, I ran an picked up her book and followed her ever since. I don't know the book Dip, what exactly is it about? Oh by the way, I think Susan Jeffers is a friend of Tom Plant's, go figure!

Jo - I thought of you while I was pulling together my books. I can't say my list consists of extravagant titles like your wonderful book memes. I really lean more toward the self-help section at the bookstores. I do though have to say the Twilight Series are a fun, fictional read and I can't wait until the next one comes out. It's about vampires and most teenagers will LOVE it. I enjoyed them so much and was good relaxing reading!! Thank you for commenting and as always for being so supportive!

11/30/2007 10:52 AM by Gilbert Arizona Real Estate - Candace Robinson (HomeSmart )

Jennifer - I can't even imagine you would have a bit of fear in your darlin little bones!! I can't wait to see your book selections! And you can't put Jason, Brian or Adam on your book list!! LOL

11/30/2007 10:59 AM by Gilbert Arizona Real Estate - Candace Robinson (HomeSmart )

Jason - I have really enjoyed what I have read so far in "Letting Go of Your Bananas"...I have some rotten bananas in my bunch for sure!! Let me know if you pick it up!! Personally I think it will make a great gift.

Kay - I dont' get to read as much as I like, I do have to steal moments in time. Of course I don't have the usual demands of most, kids are grown and no significant other, so this allows a lot of time left. How's that for transparent?

Julie - You are too fun! Hey, I'm all for the Girls Night Out, actually we need a week don't' you think? If you have an opportunity to find Microsoft Frontpage or something equivalent that would make your task a little easier. But hey perhaps when I come to Utah, we can steal some time to teach you!!

11/30/2007 11:10 AM by Gilbert Arizona Real Estate - Candace Robinson (HomeSmart )

Tom- That is awesome that you know Susan Jeffers, I recall finding her book from a magazine that talked about her and I went out that day to buy her book. I then found her website and then emailed her to tell her 'thank you' for writing such a great book. She even emailed me back, now I was impressed!! She has some amazing books published. In fact she has an updated version of the one I list here, I have a few others of hers. Wow--small world. Thanks again for the challenge and of course again for my wonderful CD's. I am half way through listening to them!!

Dez - you make me smile. Glad you liked this little color spot! As for my homework, I worked on it and emailed you! We have spoken too. I am going to keep working on my area!

Brian - Thank you! I had lots to pick from and these are a few of my all time favorites!

Jess - I agree...I like knowledge and learning from others and I get that from reading. Thanks for stopping by.

Christina - I suggest anyone read Susan Jeffers' books! www.susanjeffers.com Thanks for stopping by!

Katerina- I wish I could get everyone together to show the tricks I use in my posts. I work mostly in Microsoft Frontpage...if you can find a version of that somewhere, you are 3/4's way there!! Sweet, our taste in books are very similar, I thought it might be!!

CANDI:  As usual, the prettiest posts around.  This book meme looked like a holiday ad for Borders.  Great job.  Thanks for the suggestions of books.  There are few in there that are particularly interesting.

Candace...Gorgeous post.  You could have put any title up there and we probably would have gone looking for the book.

I love fiction so much I rarely take time to read motivational books.  Perhaps I should.  If anything could get me interested it would be you ADVERTISEMENT.

Thank you for your list.
