Don't you just LOVE ethical agents and brokers?

I posted a Blog several weeks ago when I discovered that another broker now has a former listing of mine as a short sale.  When he entered the listing he copied all of the photos from my old listing.  Needless to say, I was a bit miffed.  If he had asked permission to do so it would have been another story.  I have had that happen in the past.

Well, I called him and asked him to remove my pictures from his listing.  He apologized and told me that his assistant must have copied the photos without his knowledge!  You know all about those nasty assistants and how lazy they can be.  It could never be the fact that the assistant was taught how to copy listing pictures by their boss.

I just went back to check that my photos had been removed.  They had, but the plot thickens...

The photos in the listing are now the photos from an even older listing of the same property.  They came from a third broker's listing of the property, one that expired before I go the listing!  They have to be two years old and portray the property in much better condition than is the case now.

Now you have to give that assistant credit.  They sure learned the proper lesson from their boss!  I think this is a broker who I am going to avoid from now on.  Could this be why his former wife now works for a competing brokerage?

We really need a process to police our business and weed out the bad apples!  Any ideas?

It seems to be a catch 22.  Do we let things 'slide' and be the bigger person or do we 'rat them out?'  I see things that are, at best, questionable but I don't make waves.  Calling the listing broker and asking him to remove your pics was a reasonable and professional request.  Too bad they aren't providing better service to their client.  Not sure how to weed out the bad apples..eventually they will rot ;)

Mike,  If they are that lazy with something so simple as pictures, what other MAJOR corners do they cut during a transaction?  My guess would be lots.  That's funny about the ex-wife too. :)
