Has Flying Made You Sick?

This has nothing to do with Real Estate.  I had a full day of flying on Tuesday, and immediately upon my return, I came down with a nasty virus.  I haven't been this sick in 20 years.  Several people have told me that they came down with a similar illness immediately after flying.  My mom believes that the airlines don't concern themselves with the air quality inside planes.  Every flight I took was booked solid.  With so many bodies in such a tight space, it would make sense that air quality would suffer, especially if the filtration systems have been neglected.  Just curious if any of you have had a similar experience with becoming ill right after flying.  Please share!

Absolutely!  I've been known to come down with major sinus infections after a flight.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

FLYING IS COMPLETELY DISGUSTING.  I try so hard, before entering the compartment of trapped germs from WHO knows when,  for WHO knows how long, hoping that a cough isn't sitting on my armrest...

DON'T EVER REQUEST AN AIRLINE PILLOW OR BLANKET.

Airlines are notorous for "bad" air.  I flew over the holidays with  no problem and am headed overseas during Christmas.  I drink plenty of water and Energy C w/zinc before and during the flight.

Oh my gosh- it is so true!  The worst is when I fly with my 1 1/2 yr old b/c she gets sick too!  I think that airborne, the medicine is really supposed to help.

It seems whenever I fly I get a stuffy/runny nose and maybe a headache....Luckily it goes away within a few hours.

When I was travelling weekly for business, I was always sick. I don't know if it was the flights, the over air conditioned hotels or just the stress of being on the road 4-5 days a week, but it always happened.

Airborne is great. Recycled air on planes just give all the passengers a chance to "rebreathe" each others germs. On the positive side, since people can no longer smoke we don't have to all smoke a pack of cigarettes together as well.

I recently was flying over the Thanksgiving holiday and I did not get sick but I found myself drinking over a gallon of water the day I was flying. My mouth was so dry I could not drink enough water. So a would say the water keeps my body clean of the germs.
