Is this offensive?

GO FISH is the group and they have an opinion to express.

It IS a good question. We don't say "Happy Holidays" in any other month (as pointed out in the song).

Now I realize Christmas is specifically Christian, but the holiday is as much a part of of of our American culture as Independence Day (also known as the 4th of July, at least at the time of this bloggette). Much of the western hemisphere celebrates Christmas - are we Americans the only ones weaseling out of celebrating an event full of religious significance just to be PC?

So is saying "Merry Christmas" offensive?

Who knows...all I know is that I am aware of my own behavior and I do care how I affect others. :)

Why would you even ask if this was offensive? It is called CHRISTmas.

Susan Boeldt - Susan - Yes it is. And that's the name of the holiday, not "Holiday Day." The word "holiday" is a form of "Holy Day" - is that going to offend some, too?

Honestly I think no matter what you say you are bound to offend someone. And how on earth did this get to be such an issue? There are so many more important things to be woried about, don't you agreee? So say what ever makes you comfortable I am sticking with the Merry Christmas- until New Years when I will say Happy New Year! Take care and make it a great day!

Yup, We could all use a little tolerance and some thicker skin. Thanks again and Merry Christmas

(I actually say "Merry Christmas" within a few days before and after Christmas Day and then "Happy Holidays" in the three or four weeks preceeding it. Seems to make more sense to me - kinda like telling someone "Happy Birthday" for the entire month before the actual date - doesn't fit.)
