The Christmas Ship Parade - Christmas Ships Being an old Navy man, these are really boats, not ships. But I will go along with this because the ships represent the true spirit of the holidays. The amount of lights on these ships is staggering and beautiful and is a gift to the people of Portland from people with much good spirit in their hearts.

Other Holidays light events:

Queen Anne Victorian Mansion - Queen Anne Victorian Mansion

The Grotto's Christmas Festival of Lights - The Grotto

Winter Wonderland at PIR - Portland International Raceway

ZooLights Festival - Oregon Zoo

Peacock Lane 2007 - Peacock Lane

Portland Farmers Market  Portland Farmers Market  Bringing the best of the country to the heart of the city since 1992. A vibrant gathering place where friends meet and shop with a direct connection to over 250 vendors having deep roots in Oregon and Washington, including farms, nurseries, bakeries, meat and seafood providers, cheese makers, and specialty foods producers.

Portland Saturday Market - Celebrating its 34th year. Features handmade arts and crafts; food and entertainment too, from over 300 artisans. Portland Saturday Market  Support local artisans and buy handmade gifts for Christmas.

I guess that's more than 5.

Hi Wayne:  I have visited the fair city of Portland once, and stayed for about five weeks.  I loved the city.  It would be so nice if you could re-visit the Christmas Ships and take a gazillion pictures, and post perhaps the best five or ten.  Thanks a bunch for sharing...

Hi Wayne,

I have never been to Portland, sounds like a great place. Any reason you didn't include going to a Trail Blazers game in your top 5?
