LAST YEAR WE HAD OUR
1st ANNUAL
GREEN IS RED HOT CONTEST...get on track with green it is red hot
The following text is a  review of that contest.

ARE YOU R E A D Y for the 2nd ANNUAL GREEN IS RED HOT CONTEST?????

It's just  around the corner. So here's your "heads up!!!"  Don't just sit there! Plan your entry ...and GOOD LUCK!

Like the little boy sitting here on the tracks in the photo I took in Saluda, N.C. in 2007, we all would be wise to take a good look around us to see "what's coming" down the tracks.

(Don't worry, in this case, the train stopped running four (4) years ago, and our little guy is perfectly safe..unlike some kids who are being exposed to toxic chemicals ..VOC's right in their own homes everyday.) Brigitte Mueller can tell you more about that here.

As real estate professionals, does it make sense to you to keep abreast of trends our market and in our neighborhoods? What are our clients asking for in the way of residential properties, for example?

Recently, REALTOR Magazine explores the trend toward green-built homes and the demand for sustainable products.  "It's easy sounding green" the article reports, "...the triple whammy of gas prices, global warming, and health concerns about chemicals has made green buildings red hot. ...Take a first step toward working with the growing segment of buyers who appreciate green building...read the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®' smartgrowth green publication, On Common Ground. Or see what the green house of the future will be likeby checking out the NAR cosponsored exhibit The Green House at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., or on the Web at www.nbm.org," the article advises.

GREEN IS RED HOT CONTEST ( Could be a super opportunity to get noticed, Newbies!)

So what can we here at Active Rain do to respond to the trend? To educate ourselves? To take a look at what's on the horizon? Well Dena and I got to talking about it the other day and here's the upshot of our conversation, "..."janeAnne, let's have a CONTEST! one about 'thinking green', building the ECO All-Stars Group and Localism for their own and others'  benefit.

Reward, should probably be the gold stars and the increased knowledge they will obtain by exploring their neighborhoods with new eyes."  ".What's the perfect time for a GREENING UP CONTEST? I know! ... Spring's on the way!" I chimed in.

So that's how it started to bloom .... ARE YOU READY  FOR THE 2nd Annual EVENT?????

Let me know...

Hey janeAnne, Did you know I used to live in Saluda? I lived there from roughly 9 to 12. I loved that little town. My father was the pastor of the Lutheran Church.

I know everytime you have these contests I say I'm going to write something and every time I don't. I guess "green" is just way out of my area of expertise. I have learned a lot this year from reading your posts though. So keep it up.

janeAnne   We are just about to experience our first snow of the season in New Hampshire and I am afraid all we are going to be seeing is WHITE!  Sounds like a great contest -- it is challenging in a state that is just beginning to explore green.

OK janeAnne, Give up the details.

BTW, I know that I'll always learn something from your blog, but I didn't expect to learn that BB is a PK.
