Repost of my first blog due to faulty URL...sorry all!

Hi there!

Welcome to my first blog!  (Had a typo in the website URL so I had to repost this because I couldn't figure out how to edit it.)

I would like to share with you a way to block creditors from randomly running your credit and lowering your credit scores due to multiple inquiries.  If you choose to Opt Out at https://www.optoutprescreen.com/ .  I have been informed that this will increase your FICO scores by about 15 points when you select the opt out for 5 years option.  Do not choose to opt out permanently.

More information to come soon!  In the meantime, feel free to contact me for all your Real Estate needs!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Jacobs

Jennifer:  Welcome to AR!  I don't think that outside inquiries lower your credit score.  It's only when you initiated the pulling of the report by applying for credit that it can hurt you.

Thanks for the Welcome Bob!  Nice to meet you!

Regarding the prescreens, I didn't think they affected credit score either, but this was the information I was given.  So for what it's worth, I thought I'd pass it along.  I believe what they are saying is that it doesn't lower your score to have prescreens made, but by opt-out of them, your score will receive a boost.  I suppose the only way to really know is to call them and ask or to just try it.  Any rate, there is less likelihood of identity theft if we do not receive these offers.  Less junk mail in our mail box too! :)

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to AR.  Thanks for the post!  What do we have to lose by just trying it, right?  I"ll try it!
