Yesterday I saw a pick up truck loaded down with furniture.  I could tell from the furniture on the truck that it was probably a student beginning to move their worldly possession back home for the semester.  It's a little early yet but we will be seeing more trucks moving over the next ten days.  Soon we will see lots of pickups with furniture....moving, moving, moving..... and they will be back in January.

College Station is the home of Texas A&M University plus we also have a Blinn College campus in Bryan, our twin city.  That adds up to over 65,000 students (I think that is close).  So you can imagine all the trucks we will see.  This happens every time a semester ends and begins so we are quite used to it.  But it always amazing me to see all the pickups.  We are in Texas and pickup trucks are the vehicle of choice for many students and other residents.

When the students go home, the community seems almost deserted.  We can actually drive down the streets and highways without that much traffic.  We can even go into restaurants and eat without having to stand in line.  BUT WE LOVE OUR STUDENTS AND ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO THEM COMING BACK....

AGGIES be safe when you move, drive carefully, have fun over the break, and come back to us in January.

With the price of gas what it is, it is amazing that there are still so many pick up trucks

Hi Jonathan, It's a TEXAS thing.  A&M has lots of Texas students.   Cowboys love trucks and cowgirls love cowboys.
