Moni - what a sad story. A friend of mine's son committed suicide a couple of years ago. He was 21 and wonderful. He was upset and my friend wondered why he didn't wait just one hour. You know things look better in a little while. People who commit suicide don't think about what and who they leave behind. Sad.

I did not know that Brad Delp committed suicide.  I grew up on all the Boston songs as a kid in the 70's.  I find it sad that people who kill themselves feel that this is their only alternative. 

Linda...Very sad indeed. My sons best friend committed suicide at 16 year old many years ago...he was high and depressed listening to Nirvana and thought the other side looked better.

Harold...It happened back in March. He was a real part of the community and accepted like an average Joe. Very sad.

Monika  A very nice tribute -- I didn't know this young man.  I have done a lot of community mediation and we often are able to help families and young adults who are having significant challenges -- I would love to see more funding to help those who are having significant challenges -- Sometimes as a mediator I am grasping for resources to help someone and there are often too few available.

Monika-your post made me teary eyed.. theses things hit close to home.  Suicide is such a taboo topic but it more common than people know.  More people die from suicide than heart disease at least those were the stats a few years ago. 

I am a survivor of suicide...meaning...VIP's in my life...have passed away in that manner.  It is what brought me to Daytona Beach...and has changed me forever...

Such a beautiful thing you did Monika..and do...there needs to be more resources...so many people react in a strange way when you talk about it...its hard to handle and understand.  We do need more awareness on this topic. 

This is the time of year...we have to keep an eye on people and their emotions...people who commit suicide are in severe turmoil and pain..... as a survivor...we just can't understand what drives them to do this...My prayers go out to the family...Healing is in order...healing takes time... My prayers are with them...

Suicide is one of those things that you can't understand fully until you deal with it. Even then, I don't know that it's so easy to know how that person felt. I do know that it's a sad thing, indeed. I grew up on Boston and this song brings back some strong memories for me as well. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends.

How sad, I remember the song. We had a suicide last year at our high school. No one saw it coming, honor student, very popular, girlfriend, is was a shock to the entire community. Even the kids who were his friends never saw it coming.

May Brad rest in peace and his family heal and not blame themselves.

Moni - This is such a heart felt tribute to Brad. I know that people who commit suicide have somehow lost the sense of awareness that they are loved. They are so wrapped up in the pain they can't see anything else. It is sad so sad.

I was a big fan of Boston and really loved their music. I still can't believe he was that sad...that he felt he had no other option.
